Meanwhile, reports suggest that Sushma Swaraj's health had deteriorated in recent months. She had a kidney transplant in 2016 yet she continued to work despite this severe medical condition and prolonged hospitalisation. However, the 67-year-old later reduced her public engagements. Yes, Sushma, who served as the External Affairs Minister in the first tenure of Modi government (between 2014 and 2019), had opted out of the general elections (held in April-may) this year.
