The past week has been all about the CAA - Citizenship Amendment Act that was recently passed by the Government of India. While nation-wide protests have risen against this act, the students of Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia University recently also took to the streets to oppose the same. On Sunday evening, several students of Jamia Millia Islamia were injured as police entered their campus and lathi-charged them after protests against the CAA intensified in South Delhi. To stand in solidarity with the Jamia Millia university students, students from universities of other cities including Mumbai also held peaceful protests on Monday, December 16. Among protestors, Saavdhaan India host Sushant Singh was also spotted expressing his views. Now we hear, Singh's innings with crime show have end amid his participation in anti-CAA protests. The actor took to Twitter to reveal the same as he wrote, "And, my stint with Savdhaan India has ended." As soon as Singh tweeted the same, Twitterati came in support of the star and a user also commented saying, "The price you pay for speaking the truth?" to which Singh responded saying, "A very small price my friend."

As students and also working professionals attended a protest at Mumbai University to take a stand against the Delhi Police action against students and also against CAA. Singh was among the few celebrities who turned yo at the protest and openly expressed his views on the ongoing issue. Other big celebrities from Bollywood did take to social media to condemn the violence that took place at the Delhi protests but have maintained their silence when it comes to CAA.
