Superstar Singer: Here's All That You need To Know About The Contestants of The Show!
After the much loved Super Dancer 3 came to an end, its vacant slot is all set to be taken over by Superstar Singer. The show will have Himesh Reshammiya, Javed Ali and Alka Yagnik as the main judges whereas, captains Salman Ali, Jyotica Tangri, Nitin Kumar, and Sachin Valmiki will lead contestants to win the title of 'Singing Ka Kal'. Recently, the judges, captains and some of the contestants of Superstar Singer graced The Kapil Sharma Show for promotions and indulged in some fun. And now, just before the show airs tonight, here is all that you need to know about a few contestants of the show.
Thanu Khan, 7, Barmer, Rajasthan: By Captain Jyotica Tangri
Thanu Khan is a 7-year-old boy from Barmer, Rajasthan. He belongs to a family of singers and has been trained by his father. He is a huge fan of Captain Salman Ali. The young boy has immense love for his country and loves wearing a turban which he considers his pride. He sang songs with folk touch to them and made everyone dance to his beats. He made a festive environment with his performances during the auditions. His soulful singing won heats of the judges. Thanu has always been with his Khartal (famous Rajasthan musical instrument) which he includes in everything he does which is then translated by the host and the captains.
Soyab Ali, 8, Mewat, Haryana: By Captain Nitin Kumar
Soyab Ali is 8 years old contestant hails from Mewat, Haryana. Captain Nitin saw huge potential in Soyab and brought him to the auditions. His ultimate aim is to challenge Captain Salman Ali and through his singing he was able to leave the captains and judges in awe of his talent. God-gifted singer Soyab Ali has no formal training in music but can hit all notes beautifully. The 8 years old singer from Mewat, Haryana got to know about the Superstar Singer audition from his school and received huge support from his school. The judges compared his singing to that of captain Salman Ali and they sang the song Sajda together.
Shekinah Mukhya, 13, Dehradun: By Captain Sachin Valmiki
Shekinah is a 13 years old Gurkha Girl from Dehradun. She wants to make her Gurkha regiment proud through her singing. She is multi-talented and a stage performer, knows how to grab audience attention with her singing. She is the lead singer in her father’s band named Maya and was trained by her father in singing. She is the only girl studying in an all boys’ school in Dehradun where her parents teach. She has received a lot of support from her school.
Chaitanya Dhaneshwar Devadha, 12, Alandi, Pune: By Captain Salman Ali
Chaitanya Devadha also called ‘Mauli’ who resides in Alandi, Pune is a 12-year-old singer who sings bhajans and bhakti songs along with his family. With support of more than 40 people from his village came Chaitanya, also called ‘Mauli’ from Alandi. Alandi is the land of god Vithal also called Mauli. He made a grand entrance with complete support from his village. Dressed up in traditionals, Mauli sang Vithala Kontha and Deva Shree Ganesha. During the performance Himesh Reshammiya went on stage and made video of his live singing. He received the superstar Namaste and all the captains went on stage to greet him. Himesh Reshammiya said that he has met Vithal God today through Mauli and called Superstar Singer’s luck that all these people from the religious land of Aland came on the set. Judge Alka Yagnik said that Mauli will not only make a name of his village but of the whole nation. Javed Ali said that he was the only contestant whose pitch remained the same throughout the performance. Mauli along with his fellow natives sang ‘Nanade Vatukara’ and gave a traditional performance. His father runs a gurukul to help underprivileged kids and educate them. Chaitanya sang a fusion of ‘Deva Shree Ganesha’ and ‘Vithala Kontha’.
Ankona Mukherjee, 13, Bankura, West Bengal: By Captain Sachin Valmiki
Ankona Mukherjee is a 13 years old girl from Bankura, West Bengal. She is a huge fan of Judge Alka Yagnik and wishes to share the stage with her. Captain Sachin Valmiki selected the girl from the mass audition held on West Bengal. Her father shared that Judge Alka Yagnik’s songs have always inspired their daughter and today they are here only because of her songs. They worked hard to teach her child singing- Every Sunday they travel 250 kms and go to Kolkata to teach their child singing. She started singing at the early of 4 and with her beautiful singing left the judges teary-eyed. She is also a pet lover and encourages everyone to help pets with shelter.
Superstar Singer goes on-air on June 29 and will take the 8 pm slot of Super Dancer 3.
