Sony TV Officially Announces Archana Puran Singh’s Inclusion In The Kapil Sharma Show and Welcomes Her Aboard!
Now that was one subtle statement.
While the country mourns the death of 40 CRPF jawans, much more drama has been going on in tinsel town. Politician Navjot Singh Sidhu’s statements, condemning the attacks were not taken to kindly by many and the trend ‘#boycottsidhu’ caught up speed on social media, so much so that viewers threatened to boycott Sony TV and The Kapil Sharma Show, is Sidhu was not ousted from it. Navjot Singh Sidhu To Be Fired From The Kapil Sharma Show Over His Pulwama Attack Statements! #BoycottSidhu Becomes The Top Trend On Twitter!
And netizens got what they wanted, when the decision to replace Sidhu came in, effective immediately. There was also tall of Archana Puran Singh replacing Sidhu on the show. However, Archana, who had shot for a few episodes with Kapil and Team, said that she was yet to decide on joining The Kapil Sharma Show full time. Archana Puran Singh to Replace Navjot Singh Sidhu in ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’? Here’s the Truth
And looks like Archana has made up her mind. Sony TV officially welcomed Archana on board The Kapil Sharma Show.
See their announcement below:
However, the channel deleted their previous tweet and announced (only one) Archana's episode in a fresh tweet:
The decision to pull Sidhu of the show came immediately after Twitter exploded in anger for his comments on the Pulwana incident. In a media gathering, Navjot Singh Sidhu was quoted as saying – “There are good, bad and ugly people in our lives. Every place, institution and nation has them. The ugly needs to be punished, but individuals cannot be blamed for a dastardly act. Nations cannot be blamed just for a handful of people. These people have no country, no religion. They act as deterrents in the peace process. We need to deal with them strictly”. And this turned out to become a full blown controversy, which already seems to be having quite the political ramifications already.
