In a shocking turn of events, actress Shamita Shetty was verbally abused in road rage while her driver was slapped and threatened during the incident. The incident took place at around 1.30 pm near Viviana Mall in Thane on Tuesday (January 29). According a report in Times of India, a motorist, who was accompanied by two of his friends, rammed his car into Shetty’s vehicle and when Shetty's driver Darshan Sawant stopped the car to inspect the damage, the three accused in picked up a fight. Not only did they abused the actress, they also slapped and threatened Sawant. The three accused are yet-to-be-identified but the details of their vehicle have been provided by Shetty’s driver, and an FIR has been filed against the trio. Shamita Shetty was in Thane for some personal work. The actress' driver Sawant, in his complaint, said, "The incident took place around 1.30pm. When we stopped the car to inspect the damage, the three accused in other vehicle too alighted and picked up a fight. They also threatened and slapped me."
A case has been registered at the Rabodi Police Station under sections 279, 323, 504, 506, 427 and 34 of the Indian Penal code. An offence has been filed against the trio, who are on the run. However, the car involved in the accident has been identified, said the police.
