Shaheer Sheikh was last seen in Dastaan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali - a historical drama. While it was immensely appreciated for its grandeur, the show failed to strike any chord with the audiences. As a result, makers had to decide to pull the curtains down on it. Though the actor is now gearing up for his next venture, a spin-off on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, he reveals Salim Anarkali will be back, this time on an OTT platform. When Spotboye got in touch with the actor to discuss if his last show going off air bothered him much, the actor said, "It’s sudden and tragic but I respect the decision of Colors. When asked about his new show, Ye Rishte Hai Pyaar Ke, Shaheer revealed he's excited to step into Abir's shoes. He said, "I am all set. I have a lot of expectations from this show also because Rajan Sir has promised me a lot of things for my character ki mere andar koi aatma nahi aayegi, mere paas koi superpowers nahi aayenge and mera punar janam bhi nahi hoga. But on a serious note, I am looking forward to Abir and the show. When asked if he regrets the show going off air since he had trained so much for it and the project was so close to his heart, Shaheer refuted saying, "No, I feel it ended on the right note. It would have looked dragged incase if it had been aired for few more days. I believe in finite shows". Well, let's hope the makers are able to revive the period drama real soon and we wonder which OTT platform would be eager to buy the rights first.
