“Rahul, Naam Toh Suna Hi Hoga.” Do you know of anyone who is not familiar with this Shah Rukh Khan dialogue? Well, if you do, keep it to yourself, because I do not want such kind of negativity. The one-liner from SRK’s musical-romance-drama Dil To Pagal Hai is a part of popular culture so much so that it has purportedly inspired an upcoming television serial - Aladdin - Naam Toh Suna Hoga. Yes, SAB TV’s new show is not just based on Arabian Nights character Aladdin but seems to be heavily inspired by King Khan. The teaser video of Aladdin - Naam Toh Suna Hoga presented its lead characters Siddharth Nigam as Aladdin and Avneet Kaur as Yasmine aka Princess Jasmine. Who's Playing What in 'Aladdin' Live-action Remake?

On 14th August, SAB TV dropped a teaser of their forthcoming serial, writing, “Ek shehzaadi se mohabbat ki jurrat ki jisne, ye hai uss Aladdin ki kahaani. Dekhiye 21st August se, raat 9 baje in #AladdinOnSAB.” It features Siddharth Nigam of Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat fame in titular role of Aladdin and dancer-actress Avneet Kaur as his love interest Yasmine. Just like the 1992 Disney film Aladdin, which was based on One Thousand and One Nights, SAB TV serial shows Siddharth as a happy-go-lucky street urchin, who happens to be in love with the princess of the country. Shah Rukh Khan Ruling Bollywood for 26 Years & These 26 Pictures of King Khan in Black Will Make Your Ovaries Explode With His Charm!

In the teaser, we see Aladdin enter Princess Yasmine’s chamber and smartly makes her wear a simple flower jewellery designed by him. On being found by guards, he makes a quick run but not before mouthing SRK-inspired dialogue – “Aladdin, Naam Toh Suna Hoga!” Well yes, too many times but from King Khan.

Aladdin - Naam Toh Suna Hoga, the fantasy-drama will air on SAB TV at 9 pm IST from 21st August 2018. Keeping Siddharth’s attempt at doing a Shah Rukh aside, we quite liked the makers’ idea of bringing the popular tale of Arabian Nights. It is also interesting to see Siddharth Nigam and Avneet Kaur portray the roles that suit their age and not a typical saas-bahu saga. Especially, Avneet who has chosen to essay a character of Princess Jasmine that’s adored by millions of girls worldwide and not get entangled in doing the ideal wife and bahu roles like her contemporaries on the television.

We are also interested in finding out who plays the role of Aladdin’s friend and powerful Genie in Aladdin - Naam Toh Suna Hoga. It is quite exciting for India to have their own version of kids favourite Aladdin. Meanwhile, a live-action American musical romantic fantasy adventure film also titled Aladdin will be releasing in 2019. Guy Ritchie-directed film will see Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine and Will Smith as Genie in the respective roles.
