On Wednesday evening, Saumya Tandon’s house caught fire but fortunately the actress did not suffer any injury and the fire was doused in time. Earlier today, the Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai actress took to the micro-blogging site to share a picture of the section of the house which got burnt. she wrote on Twitter, "Had fire in my house 😢, lessons learnt 1. Never sleep with liquit mosquito replant next to your bed especially if it’s over take it off the switch 2. Never have loose connection things plugged in 3. Talking abou it, Saumya, in a  statement to Spotboye, said, "Yes, all safe but got minor burns." Narrating how it happened, Saumya added, "It was fire in the plug where mosquito repellent was put in the middle of the night, probably the liquid was over and it overheated. All of us are safe. MA got slight burn on her cheek as it was next to her bed. I and my nanny were trying to put the fire off so got minor burns in the palms. All safe. Thanks."

The actress was recently in the news for Cobrapost's sting operation, which she didn't give into. The actress did not fall for the temptation of money and use her social media influence to promote political parties in the upcoming elections. Talking about the same, Saumya told the website, "I don’t remember exactly remember when they called me because I get a lot of calls inviting me for inaugurations and political rallies. She further added, "But I always say that I can host for money, but not make an appearance for political issues because that’s something which is sensitive and of national importance. It’s serious business, I will do it if I believe in it but not for money. Aap jisko jaante nahi, how can I rally or propagate for that person? It’s not right."

On the personal front, Saumya Tandon welcomed her first child - a baby boy - with husband Saurabh Devendra Singh on January 14. On the professional front, the actress was last seen in where she portrayed the role of Anita  in Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai. Watch this space for further updates.
