Sanjay Gandhi of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Fame UPSET With Jhanak Makers for Causing Him Financial Insecurity (LatestLY Exclusive)

Actor Sanjay Gandhi is furious with the makers of Jhanak. The actor who is known as Mahendra Pratap Singhania from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has done 20-25 shows in his career. He was also a part of Jhanak but is upset with the makers for wasting his time, and therefore causing him financial losses. On the show, Jhanak he was playing the father of the main protagonist. Hiba Nawab plays the titular role of Jhanak Raina Bose on the show. While the show is getting good TRPs, Sanjay Gandhi says the apparent casual attitude of the makers have cost him heavily. When we spoke to him on the phone, he said, "I am in huge financial crisis. In fact, I am struggling to pay rent of my apartment in Andheri, and had to even borrow money from friends. As an actor, there are some basic lifestyle costs that one needs to maintain. The makers of Jhanak signed me on in September. I was playing the role of Jhanak's father. The show went on air in November. You will not believe it, I have only shot for 20 days so far. My track stopped after that. I was told it was a break of two months. But till date, they have no clarity on what they will do with the character."

Sanjay Gandhi said that he got quite a few shows in between but had to let go of them. "It is difficult to commit to people. I have been without a job for months now. I knew if I took something up, and if I was called on Jhanak sets, the new makers would suffer. It is a horrible situation to be in. He has now officially quit the show. Sanjay Gandhi said he is looking for work to get out of this financial mess. In the past, he has done shows like Naagin, Gangaa, Kayamaat to name a few.
