Joining the long list of television stars who have gravitated towards Bollywood, is Pavitra Rishta actress Asha Negi. The actress, who has been on a break from the small screen for quite some time now, has bagged Anurag Basu’s next film and she will be paired opposite Abhishek Bachchan. The film was initially speculated to be the sequel to Basu’s Life In A Metro, but the director denied the rumours and told PTI, “The genre is different. Life In A Metro had drama, love story and it revolved around multiple stories about relationships. This is not that. This film has a bit of crime and black humour in it. The only common thing is all four stories are intersecting and affecting each other. I don't want to confuse the audience and call it as a sequel."

Asha Negi is yet to confirm the development, as the lady is in Himachal Pradesh, ringing in her birthday with her beau Rithvik Dhanjani. Apart from becoming a household name as Purvi in Pavitra Rishta, Asha has been a part of shows like Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, ALTBalaji's web-series Baarish, opposite Sharman Joshi and was also a part of Khatron Ke Khiladi 6. She and beau Rithvik Dhanjani are also winners of Nach Baliye 6.
