Panchayat, one of Prime Video's most popular shows, has returned for its third season. Streaming from 28th May, Panchayat Season 3 features eight episodes and brings us back to the quiet chaos of Phulera, which has grown louder and hints at possibly becoming violent in the next season. The series brings back mainstays like Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Sanvikaa, Chandan Roy, Durgesh Kumar, Faisal Malik, and Sunita Rajwar. Panchayat Season 3 Review: Jitendra Kumar and Neena Gupta's TVF Series Loses Its Witty Flair in Struggle to Balance Satire and Sentiment.
In the new season, Abhishek is transferred to a new village due to MLA Chandrakishore's grudge against him and Brij Bhushan. However, following the MLA's conviction and loss of status, Abhishek manages to return to Phulera as the secretary. A vengeful Chandrakishore teams up with 'Banrakas' Bhushan and his wife, Kranti Devi, to win over the ward members and succeed in the upcoming elections, aiming to displace Manju Devi. Their plan fails due to Chandrakishore's arrogance and a stroke of luck for the protagonists.
When Manju Devi's side tricks Chandrakishore into selling his favourite white horse to them, he leads his men to assault the village. The villagers, led by the protagonists, also arm themselves. Though the assault is averted, the finale sees Brij Bhushan, Abhishek, Prahlad, and Vikas being attacked by unknown gun-wielding assailants, leaving Brij Bhushan grievously injured. The next season will presumably focus on the upcoming panchayat elections, and the finale suggests that Phulera could witness more violence.
The upcoming, yet unannounced, season 4 needs to address the five questions raised by the finale of Panchayat Season 3:
Who Shot Brij Bhushan?
The assailants were never caught, and suspicion mostly points towards Chandrakishore and 'Banrakas'. Is this part of a larger plot hinted at by Chandrakishore's boss, played by Swanand Kirkire, during their phone conversation? Chandrakishore denies any involvement, and 'Banrakas' claims that Brij Bhushan might have orchestrated the attack himself. Given Brij Bhushan's obsession with retaining power, this theory isn't far-fetched. Notably, the assailants' bullets seemed to miss their targets at close range. If neither Chandrakishore nor Brij Bhushan is behind the attack, then who sent the assailants?
Can Phulera Survive The Upcoming Elections?
The finale hinted that the upcoming elections will significantly impact the village, with the worst yet to come. This will be Abhishek's first involvement in panchayat elections, and it promises to be a challenging time, especially after the attack on Brij Bhushan. The final episode of Season 3 almost brought violence to Phulera. Will the elections lead the village into further chaos due to the egos of a few men? Let's hope Panchayat doesn't take a turn similar to Nukkad.

Who Will Win the Elections?
Even if the elections proceed smoothly, the question remains: who will emerge victorious? Currently, the ward members support Manju Devi and Brij Bhushan. However, 'Banrakas' and Kranti Devi, backed by Chandrakishore, are formidable opponents. A possible scenario is Manju Devi forgoing the panchayat elections to contest the constituency elections against Chandrakishore for the MLA post. What do you think?
Will Abhishek Be Able To Crack His MBA Tests?
Abhishek has been striving to pass the CAT without much success. He appears better prepared in Season 3, but the near-fatal attack might have affected his mental state, despite telling Vikas he did well. His friend reminds Abhishek that an ongoing police case might impact his admissions, as Abhishek was arrested for a scuffle with Chandrakishore and his men. This is a cause for concern, as the case could also affect his job posting in Phulera. Most likely, due to Chandrakishore's involvement, the police might not file an FIR. If Abhishek secures admission to his MBA course, will he pursue it, or has Phulera captured his better judgment? His decision could determine whether Panchayat ends with the next season. Will Abhishek and Rinki Confess Their Feelings?
Abhishek and Rinki continue their 'will they, won't they' love story into the next season. At least, we see them sharing the backseat of a car. Let's hope they finally confess their feelings before Abhishek gets entangled further in Phulera's political landscape. It will also be interesting to see if Manju Devi and Brij Bhushan accept their relationship, considering they once tried to match Abhishek with their daughter before he even laid eyes on her.
