However, his biggest acclaim came from composing the score for This is Us and Only Murders in The Building. He has received six Emmy nominations for his work in these series, though they didn't convert into a win. But he did win an ASCAP Screen Music Award for This is Us.

In an interview with Deadline, Khosla revealed how he came up with the yodelling part of the OMITB theme song. He had said, "John (Hoffman - show creator) said he wanted to go bigger with the score, but bigger doesn’t always mean better. So there’s a balance of that. We started to use more vocals with some opera singing. At the end of the finale last year, we had a bunch of yodelers come in. I wouldn’t even bother trying — they did that sh*t and it was insane; it was so cool. They were these yodelers in New York singing my theme song and I gave them the woodwind parts."
With Only Murders in the Building being once again nominated for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) at the 76th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, let's hope that Khosla turns this one into a much-needed win. Only Murders in the Building Season 4, meanwhile, has started streaming on Hulu and Disney+ Hotstar with the first episode dropping on August 27, 2024.
