The Witcher series is one of the most critically acclaimed, if tad underrated, video-game franchises produced. Based on a series of Norwegian fantasy short stories, the games follows Geralt of Rivia, a white-haired monster hunter and a master of potions, as he tackles various beasts and political machinations. The games are known for their interesting plotlines, intriguing monsters and characters, as well as abundant nudity and lovemaking scenes. In 2017, Netflix has commissioned a series to be made on Geralt's adventures, borrowing the title The Witcher. Henry Cavill, popularly known for playing Superman in DC Universe, is playing the Witcher. The series is created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and has some of the fan-favourite supporting characters sourced from the stories and games, like Yennefer, Ciri and Triss Merigold.

The show is headed for the San Diego Comic-Con on July 19. However, before that, the makers have revealed the first stills of The Witcher, including the poster, which you can see below.

As the tagline 'The Worst Monsters Are The Ones We Create' suggests, the series will hint at the multi-choice options that the games used to give the player when they face any crucial situation. The story ahead will depend on the kind of choice we make. It looks like Geralt in the show will also facing moral dilemmas that could end up with some very bad consequences for him.

We also have the first proper look of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri, with the latter two played by newcomers. Anya Chalotra plays Yennefer, one of Geralt's love interest and a powerful witch herself. Ciri, meanwhile is played by Freya Allan, a princess who trains under Geralt to be a witcher. The premiere date of The Witcher has not been revealed yet.
