Television star Mouni Roy is going places this year! 2018 is quite a special year for this lovely actress who is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Gold, opposite none other than Akshay Kumar. There are also reports that she has signed on to play a part in Salman Khan's Dabanng 3 as well. Then of course, there is Brahmastra too with Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, where Mouni is reportedly playing a negative role.

Though she has given the reins for the lead role to Karishma Tanna in the third season of Naagin, Mouni Roy has not given up on the small screen. In fact she is making her online debut with Ekta Kapoor's digital platform, ALT Balaji's next, where she will be playing the lead role. The show is called Mehrunissa, which is touted to be about the love story of Mehrunissa and Prince Salim. Ken Ghosh will be directing the show. Rithvik Dhanjani, Mohit Raina and Arjun Bijlani are being considered for the role of the male lead. More details awaited on the show.

Mouni Roy, an accomplished dancer, had made her debut with Ekta Kapoor's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, before she gained quite popularity for her role as Sati in Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev. However, her most popular role was as Shivanya/Shivangi in the two seasons of Naagin.
