Sayantani Ghosh is one of those rare actresses who is immensely talented and graceful. The dusky beauty, who is currently wooing one and all as Dr Anjali in Sanjivani 2 and has a variety of roles to her credit, ranging from a protagonist and antagonist in daily soaps to comedy reality shows and has even done Bigg Boss 6, will soon be returning to the screens in one of her previously acclaimed roles, yes, that of a shape-shifting snake. It can be recalled that Sayantani was the first actresses of tinsel town to have played a snake in Zee TV's 2007 soap Naaginn, which lasted for two years. Naaginn saw Sayantani play Amrita, an icchadari naagin who wants to avenge the killings of her parents, but her revenge kinda remains incomplete. The show ended on a cliffhanger with Amrita, who became a ghost, being captured. And while Sayantani might not reprise her role of Amrita, she will be seen playing one of the shapeshifters in Naagin 4, reads a Bombay Times report.

The daily quoted a source as saying, "Sayantani is known as the original naagin of TV. Her inclusion in the fourth season will be value addition. She will play the third naagin, a character that’s crucial to the storyline. She is now adjusting her dates, as she is also shooting for a daily soap." It has also been reported that Ankita Lokhande will be playing the lead in the show, but Jasmin Bhasin is also reported to be in contention. Archana Banegi Naagin? After Naagin 3 ended, it was being speculated that Anita Hassanandani's character Vishakha will return as the antagonist in Naagin 4, just like Adaa Khan's Shesha character was brought back. But looks like Naagin 4 will see Sayantani in the role of the antagonist shape-shifter. Either way, we don't mind seeing Sayantani play a responsible doctor on one side and a shapeshifter on the other, at all!
