Mirzapur Season 3 dropped on 5 July 2024 on Prime Video to mixed reactions. While some felt the new season was an improvement from the previous one, others believed the show was bloated and over-stuffed, losing its essence. Wherever you stand on the quality of Mirzapur Season 3, you cannot deny that there were some shocking twists and brutal deaths you never saw coming. 'Mirzapur’ Season 3 Review: Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi’s ‘Gangs of Purvanchal’ Returns in Much Improved Form!
Like in previous seasons, not all major characters come out alive, but Guddu Pandit, Golu, and Kaleen Bhaiya have survived to extend their feud for another time. Kaleen Bhaiya, who has been licking his wounds and mulling over retirement after his son's death, finally comes into his own in the final episode, which also sees the reunion of Guddu and Golu. This is the only season where they never come face-to-face in any episode.
So, what happens to the main characters in the finale of Mirzapur Season 3, and who will return for Season 4? Let's find out. Warning: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!
Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal)
After killing his sister's fiancé, Robin, in a drug-fuelled rage, a guilt-stricken Guddu is arrested and sent to prison, where he is brutally attacked by other inmates on the orders of Madhuri as revenge for her husband's death. Guddu gets a reprieve when Golu strikes a deal with JP Yadav, promising him a baahubali who would help him tackle Madhuri and Kaleen Bhaiya. When Kaleen Bhaiya, who has finally come out of hiding, visits Guddu's cell, they find another prisoner in his bed, confirming his escape. An injured Guddu is seen being taken away to a boat, where he discovers that Golu is alive, and they kiss. It remains to be seen how Guddu will handle the consequences of Golu being alive since it was her supposed death that led him to kill Robin. When we see Guddu next, he will likely be more of a broken man, unable to escape his guilt.
Golu (Shweta Tripathi Sharma)
Golu escapes from Shatrughan's clutches after injuring his sister-in-law, Saloni, and takes charge of Guddu's gang before they implode. She then strikes a deal with JP Yadav that facilitates Guddu's prison break, and with that kiss, she finally caves into the feelings she has been harbouring for her former brother-in-law. In the next season, we believe she will be more in charge of the gang's operations than Guddu, and she will also seek revenge on Shatrughan for her capture and torture.
Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi)
Kaleen Bhaiya comes out of hiding in the final episode during the meeting to decide who will be the 'king' of Purvanchal. He declares Sharad Shukla to be the rightful contender and guns him down right after the declaration. With the help of the police, Kaleen Bhaiya kills all the other gang leaders, thus fulfilling Madhuri's wish of destroying the nexus. Kaleen Bhaiya might be back, but he is definitely not the same man. More so, he now feels like a puppet in Madhuri's hands, who instigated him to kill the criminal overlords, including Sharad, so that he could be reunited with his wife and child and return home. Of course, Kaleen Bhaiya is still clueless that Beena killed his father, and his son is actually his half-brother. We wonder if this truth bomb will turn him back to his old self.
Madhuri Yadav (Isha Talwar)
Madhuri Yadav is perhaps the strongest character by the end of Season 3, and that's not just because she is the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. As she desired, she successfully vanquished the gaddi of Purvanchal by nearly killing all gang lords and even took revenge for her father's death. However, the escape of Guddu from prison might have dealt a blow to her plans. With Guddu and Golu presumably joining her uncle, JP Yadav, Madhuri could face tough competition for her seat of power in the upcoming season. Madhuri has also started suspecting Beena, so we wonder where this track will go. Also, the woman has some tough luck when it comes to love—two husbands already dead, and she had to get her new boyfriend killed to avenge her father. Love is a curse in *Mirzapur*, just ask Dimpy!
Sharad Shukla (Anjum Sharma)
Sharad Shukla's biggest mistake was not coming clean to Madhuri about her father's death when he had the opportunity to do so. That mistake cost him dearly, as he was gunned down by his mentor right when he was crowned the king of Purvanchal. At least Sharad got his wish to sit on the throne right before dying. It will be interesting to see how his mother, Shakuntala, reacts to his death. Shatrughan Tyagi (Vijay Varma)
Shatrughan doesn't appear in the final episode. The last we see of him, he is carrying his injured sister-in-law in his arms, presumably to the hospital, while her fate is left hanging. But before Golu injures Saloni and escapes from Shatrughan's clutches, Shatrughan is heard insisting to Saloni that he is Bharat and that he has let go of the ties that bound him to Shatrughan. The upcoming season will see him fully accept his role as his deceased elder twin, though he might also have to answer to his father about how Golu is still alive while facing his former lover's wrath. Also it remains to be seen if Saloni survives whether she will tell the truth to his family, or remain in love with him to look the other way.
Beena Tripathi (Rasika Dugal)
Beena is in quite a quandary, isn't she? She finds, to her shock, that her husband is alive and well, as he hugs her and her son, seemingly oblivious to her treachery. Let's not forget she was also responsible for getting Guddu addicted to drugs, and Guddu or Golu might want to have a word with her about this. Also, Madhuri is suspicious of her. With the walls closing in on her, Beena has already planned her measures for survival, as seen in the season's secret post-credit scene. ‘Mirzapur’ Season 3 Secret Post-Credit Scene Explained: The Return of an ‘Absent’ Character and What It Means for Season 4 of Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi’s Amazon Prime Show!
Dimpy Pandit (Harshita Shekhar Gaur)
Dimpy had it the worst in the final episodes of the show. Her family is now irreparably broken, with her elder brother gruesomely (though unintentionally) killing her fiancé and her father still in jail. However, instead of being heartbroken, Dimpy decides to use her anguish to destroy the mafia in her hometown, starting with her brother. She was the one to reveal evidence of Sharad Shukla's involvement in the murder of Madhuri's father to the CM, and we believe she has more evidence to take on some big names in the upcoming season. Will she ever forgive Guddu for what he did to Robin? We think not!
Ramakant Pandit (Rajesh Tailang)
Robin's murder will have its biggest repercussion on Ramakant's fate since Robin's late confession could have saved him from the noose. Now, with Robin gone, it will be up to Dimpy to save her father by using some favour with Madhuri to get it done.
Maqbool (Shaji Chaudhary)
The secret post-credit scene sees the return of Maqbool, Kaleen Bhaiya's former lieutenant turned enemy. Having been absent the entire season, he is seen in the end-credit scene working in a quarry, where he is met by Radiya. Radiya delivers a message from Beena that she wants to meet him. It seems that Beena wants to bring him back to *Mirzapur* to complete his revenge on her husband (Munna had impulsively killed his mother). Whether Maqbool and Beena manage to bring down Kaleen Bhaiya before Guddu and Golu will make for some interesting conflicts ahead.
