‘Mirzapur’ Season 3 Bonus Episode Review: Divyenndu Sharma’s Munna Bhaiyya Returns From the Dead To Serve Deleted Scenes and Unwanted Subplots (LatestLY Exclusive)
The bonus episode of 'Mirzapur' season 3 is not an extra episode but rather a collection of deleted scenes, presented by actor Divyenndu Sharma who returns as his iconic Munna Bhaiya character from the series.
'Mirzapur' Season 3 Bonus Episode Review: I might be one of the few reviewers who found the third season of Mirzapur not too bad. In fact, I consider it an improvement over the second season. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of the series as a whole, but Munna Bhaiyya (Divyenndu Sharma) is a tour de force of a character, and Mirzapur Season 3 definitely felt his absence after his character was killed at the end of Season 2. Another thing I can’t ignore about Season 3 is that it was certainly bloated. To think they deleted content from the season to get it to its current form and now expect us to watch what didn’t make the cut only makes things more incredulous. ‘Mirzapur 3 Bonus Episode’: Here’s How to Watch Special Episode of Crime Thriller Featuring Divyenndu Aka Munna Tripathi on Prime Video!
Now we have a bonus episode of Mirzapur Season 3, presented by Munna, who’s back from the dead to bring us neglected subplots and deleted scenes. So, if you’re interested in learning more about Radhiya's (Prashansa Sharma) drinking problem or how Golu (Shweta Tripathi Sharma) managed to escape from Shatrughan's (Vijay Varma) clutches by stealing a scooter and fleeing to her godown, then this is for you.

Or, if you want to see more of a conversation about Sharad (Anjum Sharma) wanting to go to college to get a certificate with 'Bharat', it’s clear why these scenes didn’t make the final cut. In between, Munna gives his vishesh tipniyan on these characters and their eventual fates. He calls the Pandit family more twisted than his own and expresses satisfaction with Sharad's eventual fate after trying to have an affair with his widowed wife, Madhuri (Isha Talwar).
'Mirzapur' Season 3 Bonus Episode Review - Less of Guddu, No Kaleen Bhaiyya
I wish there had been more scenes with Guddu (Ali Fazal) and Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi). Guddu appears in the first deleted scene, where he and his mother (Sheeba Chaddha) disagree on how to get his father out of prison. I feel that Mirzapur as a series didn’t do justice to an incredible actress like Ms Chaddha, so any good dramatic moment featuring her is a win for me. Another deleted scene featuring Dimpy (Harshita Shekhar Gaur) and Robin (Priyanshu Painyuli) provides better insight into why Robin convinces himself to be a witness in Ramakant Pandit's (Rajesh Tailang) case. ‘Mirzapur’ Season 3 Secret Post-Credit Scene Explained: The Return of an ‘Absent’ Character and What It Means for Season 4 of Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi’s Amazon Prime Show!
Even though Munna keeps referring to his father, there’s unfortunately no deleted scene featuring Kaleen Bhaiyya. It seems Mr Tripathi didn’t waste a single scene of his.
'Mirzapur' Season 3 Bonus Episode Review - The Best Scene
While most of the deleted scenes were just okay, one stood out for me—when Munna reminds us that even though he’s no longer alive, his alma mater, Gajjumal College, still carries his legacy. The scene is an extension of the sequence where Golu goes to the college and hires a few recruits for her 'company'. One of them turns out to be a Munna loyalist who even carries a gun gifted by him, though he somewhat underestimates Golu's clout and power. It was a scene laced with a mass appeal that elevates Golu as a character while also reminding how strong of an influence Munna was on the campus. ‘Mirzapur’ Season 3 Review: Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi’s ‘Gangs of Purvanchal’ Returns in Much Improved Form!
'Mirzapur' Season 3 Bonus Episode Review - Final Thoughts
While the bonus episode offers some intriguing insights and fills in a few gaps, it also highlights the uneven pacing and the 'bloat' that impacted the third season of Mirzapur. The deleted scenes are a mixed bag - a couple are worth the watch, while others reaffirm why they were cut in the first place. But for fans of Munna Bhaiyya, his posthumous return as the episode's host is a bittersweet reminder of the energy and unpredictability he brought to the series and how his absence has left a huge void that cannot be filled.
