After being lauded for an impressive act of playing the protagonist and the antagonist at once in Colors' Ishq Mein Marjawan, actress Aalisha Panwar is back with yet another show - Star Bharat's Meri Gudiya where she will be seen playing a spirit. Yes, Aalisha will not only be seen breaking stereotypes by playing a mother on-screen so early in her career but also for playing a spirit for the most part of the show. After some curiosity-inducing teasers, the makers released the promo and we are still deciphering on what to refer to it as - Annabelle gone good? or 'Not all dolls are scary.' Aalisha will be seen opposite actor Gaurav Bajaj who was last seen in Piya Rangrezz. And in separate interviews to Bombay Times, both Aalisha and Gaurav admitted that they had no qualms playing parents on-screen at this stage in their respective careers.

The promo sees a 4-year-old girl living her life and is seen talking to her doll, just like any other small girl. But the twist here comes in the form of how the doll reciprocates. It talks back to her and responds because in the doll, rests the girl's mother's spirit. Creepy!
On playing a mother, Aalisha told the daily, "It's not new for young actresses to play mom on TV. If the role is important, I don’t think there should be any problem. "I could relate to a lot of aspects of my character. It felt beautiful that I will be called dad even before my own kid starts addressing me as papa. This is an apt character at a time when I am waiting for my bundle of joy to arrive," concluded Gaurav, who ironically is all set to welcome his first child with wife of six years, Sakshi.
