It was an exciting episode of Man vs Wild on Discovery Channel as Bear Grylls went on an adventure with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Grylls and Modi walked through the dangerous tiger territory at Jim Corbett National Park with the Prime Minister in a never seen before avatar. As the two walked through Corbett National park, they spoke about Modi's childhood and how it was close to nature. Man vs Wild With Narendra Modi: 10 Interesting Things You Didn't Know About Bear Grylls, the Host of the Discovery Channel Show.
The show began with Grylls asking Modi about his childhood as the two walked through the woods with an elephant passing them by. Bear Grylls was seen picking up the elephant's dung as Modi explained to him how it was manure for the soil. While a previous episode had Grylls squeezing the dung and drinking from it, he stayed away from doing so this time. As they walked through, Modi spoke about how he came from a poor family and saw a simple childhood. When Grylls asked Modi if he was a good student, the Prime Minister laughed and responded, "I wouldn't say so." In the next segment, Grylls and Modi walked into tiger's territory with Grylls explaining how it was a huge risk to be on foot there. Grylls also taught Modi about survival skills as he made the Prime Minister a weapon to protect himself. The PM, however, said that killing any living being was against his culture. While there was less wildlife in the episode, what was interesting was little anecdotes that PM Modi shared about his life, his family and his journey to becoming the Prime Minister of India.
Then came the adventure bit where Grylls had prepared a makeshift raft to help him and PM Modi cross a river. Grylls was nervous with the responsibility of having to protect "the most important man in the country". But Modi was sporting enough to make it onboard the raft and the two made it across the river fighting the rains and the cold.
The focus of the episode was India's role in preserving and saving nature. PM Modi spoke about how Indians were moving in the direction of saving Mother Nature. Towards the end, Grylls asked Modi if his underpants were wet. To this, Modi quipped, "I will survive the whole day, don't worry!"
The episode had its moments of adventure, laughter, smiles and learnings. Grylls was mighty impressed with PM Modi and ended the show by saying a prayer for him and calling him a 'Hero'.
