Shakti -Astitiva Ke Ehsaas Ki was one show which started at a very revolutionary note, claiming to be the path-breaker, a pursuit at bringing a change in the society, to break taboos, fight against social evils this that blah blah... The untouched topic of the issue of the eunuchs in India being regarded as outcasts was taken up with great responsibility. As speculated that time this was one topic which edges towards being a very risky one if not handled with care. Well the show started and slowly unveiled the issue as a child realises she has been discriminated by her own father and her overtly nervous mother who seems to be pretty insecure about her from the birth.

Later this girl falls in love gets married to the village goon who seems to be mesmerized by her beauty. Now post wedding her mother is at it again trying to keep the girl from discovering herself and what she is- yes that was pretty amusing and shocking!!Somehow this girl realises and now there is a family of eunuchs trying to get her away from the society into their own. Well after all of this the couple turns to love each other and fights the odds. The show lost all of its track pretty early as it was just concentrating on the frequent separation and unions of the couples and also somehow convincing the society themselves and us that yes they have a right to love.

The show never ever even came close to doing justice to what it started. It was better off as a usual love story and we never understood why exactly was this issue even raised if not justified. With great hopes we watched to see some light shed on the tough lives these special parts of the society faces and also some enlightenment on how the balance can be met, awareness generated. All we got though was more and more of discrimination , yes -the show actually gave everyone new ideas towards discriminating this part of the society in new ways. Be it some rather vague concepts about sexual orientation or some rather shitty traditions supposedly which does not even exist.

Mahasangam today seems to just carry the long dreary process ahead as it just seems to be the usual monthly colors celebration what with all the shows coming together and all the actors one by one trying their luck at stopping the wedding at the request of Preeto who is against the wedding of Harman(Vivian DSena) and Jasleen. The kind of effort put is quite amusing with things like trying to get Jasleen put bad haldi to locking Harman and Saumya(Rubina Dilaik ) up. Yes that was just about it- the entire 3 and a half hours was full of some glittering performances as if from an award show. Harman as usual at his dead best with absolutely zero emotions on his face and absolutely nothing to say when it comes to taking decisions or speaking up. There is some aggressive out of place outbursts from this guy and some monotonous dialogues which we are so done with for now.

Saumya is at her irritatingly best  Harman-ji ki khushi and crap!  Somehow nothing seems to make sense while Saumya wants Harman to get married and so does Harman himself for what reason we cannot imagine! Harak Singh has become a very brave man suddenly who stands against his Preeto while we have not yet forgotten the one who never took one step without her. Preeto is all goody-two shoes trying her best to make people come to Saumya's rescue and Saumya keeps foiling all her plans. That is about what the episode holds in a nutshell. Now we have actors from different shows on colors walking in time and again. Be it Sanchi and Veer from Savithri Devi, Teni from Dil Se Dil Tak, Chakor and Suraj from Chakor also Aditya Hooda from Bepannah. Imli, Roopa and Shorvori too have some performances. The Mahasangam for the month  based on Shakti was indeed a huge disappointment with not much story to tell. So if you ask us here's what we think, the show for the day was a hit for people who enjoy good dance performances but then again why would we have to bear a 3 hours long daily soap for a bunch of performances.
