Amidst enjoying a successful run, Ekta Kapoor’s fantasy drama Chandrakanta – Ek Mayavi Prem Gatha was in the news for its leads Vishal Aditya Singh and Madhurima Tuli dating. The pair had gotten close during the filming and started dating, a fact that both the actors had agreed too. However, two months back, news came in that the actors had parted ways. And in a ‘no holds barred’ interview with Bombay Times, Madhurima spoke up about her break up. Chandrakanta Actors Madhurima Tuli and Vishal Aditya Singh Call It Quits

Revealed the Baby actress, “It (our relationship) was always an on-again-off-again relationship. The last time we broke up, Vishal called my mother to convince me to give it another chance. I did because I, too, was missing him and there was a lot of love. However, a relationship works only when there is respect for each other; otherwise, it just limps. There seemed no point in being together, as the respect was missing. It took me time, but I am over it now and I am happy about it.”

Seems like the break up was not really an amicable one, as the actress proclaimed that she now knows ‘what she does not want in her man’. “Love, for me, is strength, understanding and letting each other be. Most importantly, you should feel at home when you are with your partner. I have never thought about what my ideal man would be, but I know the traits that I don’t want in my man,” said Madhurima.

In an earlier interview to the same daily, Vishal had also spoken up on their break up and said, “We dated for almost a year, but we realised that the relationship has no future and decided to call it quits. There are all kinds of people in this world and everyone has a different personality. Whatever happened was unfortunate, but it is better to part when you don’t see a future together. I am a very honest person and I learnt a lot in the process. You are not always destined to marry the person you love. I am single right now and I am focusing only on work.”

Both Vishal and Madhurima have now moved on to different television projects. While the former is the parallel lead in Star Plus’ Kullfi Kumarr Baajewala, Madhurima will now enter Star Plus’  Qayamat Ki Raat, as a chudail. On bagging another thriller, Madhurima says, “I would rather take up a fantasy drama than a typical daily soap. I want to play different characters. Also, a daily soap has to excite me, as it’s too long a commitment. I like fantasy because of its grandeur. Also, the supernatural genre is extremely popular. They have taken over daily soaps, which reflects the fact that the audience is bored with family dramas.”
