Romit Raj, known for his roles in Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann and Maayka, has been away from the small screen post his stint in TV series Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi...Let's Go. But the actor was in the news for his personal life, when he broke up with Bigg Boss 11 winner Shilpa Shinde. The actor is now back in buzz for a good reason! Confirming the news, Romit Raj spoke to Times of India about his character in the show. He said, "I play a school dean, who is smart and dashing. It’s a layered and challenging character." The actor, who was on a break for three years, utilised the time to learn new things and hone skills. Romit, who is now married to Tina Kakkar and has a daughter named Rehaa Raj, also spent quality time with his daughter during this break.

Talking to the leading daily, the actor shared, "During my break, I studied cinema, attended acting workshops with actors and directors, and binge-watched world and regional cinema. The actor also revealed that he did not take up any shows as he did not find any content too exciting. Talking about it, "I have been declining mythological shows for the longest time, and also those which have silly stories. Most daily soaps are boring, and there will be good content only when broadcasters hire young and fresh minds," further adding that it’s tough to find good work on TV today.
