Reportedly, Nitin, who designed a set of the three-day fest that was held last year at the MMRDA grounds in BKC, has not been paid for the work done. In his FIR copy, the 51-year-old has stated that he never received a copy of the agreement between him and the trust, therefore, there is no proof. Also, Nitin was given a cheque by the organisers but it bounced. Since the complainant has registered a case at the Amboli Police Station, Kiku (who attended the fest as a celebrity guest) and his father (who is the secretary of the trust) have been included in the complaint at Amboli Police station. However, Kiku has denied the allegations saying that he is not an active member of the trust. In a statement to Mumbai Mirror, Kiku said, "I just attended the event like other celebrities did and I am not a member or a trustee of Mumbai Fest though my father is the secretary. Talking about the case, a police officer told the tabloid, "The dispute arose between the two parties due to some miscommunication about the due amount. After receiving a complaint we have registered an FIR and our probe is on. We will verify the claims made by both sides."
