It was a few hours ago, when we reported how Amitabh Bachchan hosted show, Kaun Banega Crorepati's latest season faced a massive backlash on Twitter. The reason behind the same was one of the 'options' given in a historic question, which did not go down well with many. In no time, Tweeple got furious on how can the makers referred Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as just Shivaji in one of the questions which aired on 6th November episode. FYI, the question that created the chaos was" 'Which of these rulers was the contemporary of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb?' and the options were: Maharana Pratap, Rana Sanga, Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Shivaji. After this mistake by the makers, '#Boycott_KBC_SonyTV' started trending on the miro-blogging site where many expressed they felt that their Maratha warrior was indeed disrespected. Well, amid the chaos, going by the latest update, Sony TV has come up with an apology and not just this they even carried a scroll to express how sorry they feel about the whole fiasco. "There was an inaccurate reference to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during Wednesday's KBC episode, due to inadvertence. We deeply regret the same and being mindful of the sentiments of our viewers have carried a scroll expressing regret during our episode yesterday. #KBC11," tweeted the makers.

We wonder, after the channel officially issuing an apology, will Twitter calm down and stop trending to boycott the iconic show? Also this isn't the first time that Kaun Banega Crorepati 11 has snatched the limelight owing to something controversial. As earlier, the show was bashed online, after a contestant admitted to Amitabh that he is too shy around girls and wasn't thinking of shaadi, to which Amitabh replied - 'Ab aapko rishtey aayenge'.
