The season 11 of Indian television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati aka KBC 11 has suffered backlash from the audience after its recent episode. The issue happened after the episode that was aired on Wednesday, November 6. The question asked by the show’s host Amitabh Bachchan to the contestant was, “Which of these rulers was a contemporary of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb?” The options given were - A) Maharana Pratap B) Rana Sanga C) Maharaja Ranjit Singh D) Shivaji. Things went wrong after the audience noticed that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was referred as just Shivaji on the show. This instantly hurt the sentiments of many and Twitter users started to trend using the hashtag, #Boycott_KBC_SonyTV. Twitterati demanded KBC 11 to be banned. Sony Channel issued a statement that read, “There was an inaccurate reference to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during Wednesday’s KBC episode, due to inadvertence. After Sony TV, KBC 11 host Amitabh Bachchan has also issued an apology to the audience. He took to Twitter and wrote, “No disrespect meant at all .. apologies if it has hurt sentiments  ..”
