Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, is receiving loads of love from viewers across the country. The 16th season of the popular quiz show hosted by the Bollywood legend premiered on August 12 and saw many become lakhpatis. The latest episode of KBC 16 saw contestant Pankaj Mehta on the hot seat. Pankaj, who is an advocate, hails from New Delhi. Curious to know about him, Big B asks him about his purpose in participating in the show. To which Mr Mehta replied that his daughter is a big fan of the quiz show, and because of her, he has entered KBC 16. So, how much amount did he take home? Pankaj Mehta performed admirably and secured INR 12.50 lakh after clearing the 12th question. However, he missed out on winning INR 25 lakh because he was unsure bout a question on Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone. The question read, "After the shooting of which US Prsesident was the inventor Alexander Graham Bell summoned to find the bullet using a metal detector." The options were William McKinley, Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, and Theodore Roosevelt.

Confused between Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt, Pankaj couldn't make a decision and decided to quit the show. Big B then revealed James Garfield as the right answer. James Garfield, the 20th President of the United States, was shot on July 2, 1881, after which Scottish-Canadian scientist Alexander Graham Bell was called to find the bullet with his metal detector device.
