Kapil Sharma's Support to Navjot Singh Sidhu Irks Twitterati; #BoycottKapilSharma Starts Trending on Twitter
After Navjot Singh Sidhu, Kapil Sharma comes under the radar of Twiiterati.
The Kapil Sharma Show is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. After we read reports of its low TRPs and later the host's flirty behaviour on the sets, Navjot Singh Sidhu grabbed attention for his insensitive comments on the recent Pulwama attack. The terror attack that claimed the lives of 40 CRPF Jawans was highly condemned by the entire nation and many celebs and politicians expressed their grief for the same. And while we assume one to sympathise with the martyrs' families, Navjot Singh Sidhu's callous remarks irked the Twitterati. He believed it was not a wise decision to blame an entire nation (Pakistan) for the wrongful deeds of selective individuals. What followed next were a series of tweets where folks ranted against his comments and soon #BoycottSidhu started trending on Twitter. Even Sony channel was compelled to sack the former cricketer turned politician from The Kapil Sharma Show. And while the decision was silently appreciated by the ones who demanded it, Kapil was next to come in their radar. His support towards Sidhu baffled the Twitterverse and they demanded an immediate boycott on his entire show. #BoycottKapilSharma is currently the top trend on twitter and we wonder if it will take an ugly turn as in Sidhu's case. When the comedian was asked to react on Sidhu controvery, he said, “Mujhe yeh batao ki aaj Sidhuji ko show se nikalne se iss masle ka hal nikal jaata hai, toh Sidhuji khud itne samajhdaar hai ki khud hi chale jaayenge. Gumrah kiya jaata hai logon ko, kuch log hastags chala dete hai log ki boycott sidhu yaa boycott kapil sharma show. Mujhe lagta hai ki mudde ki baat kiya karo aur agar genuine problem hai toh aap uspe focus kiya karo, naaki idhar udhar bhatkake youth ka dhyaan bhatkaya karo.” We wait to see if Salman Khan reacts to these comments by Sharma. Since the actor has already replaced Pakistani singer Atif Aslam from his production venture, Notebook, will he go ahead and replace Kapil Sharma from the talk show that he produces? Let's wait for time to answer that.
