#1 - Did you know that Kapil Sharma's real name is actually Kapil Punj? Based in Amritsar, his family consists of his father, mother, a brother and a younger sister who is now married. His father was a head constable in the Punjab Police, who unfortunately passed away after a fight with cancer. His brother later joined the police force.
#2 - Before he took television by storm with The Kapil Sharma Show, one of his first forays into television was in a comedy show on a Punjabi channel. he later participated and won The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007. He also won six seasons of Comedy Circus, establishing the fact that he is a force to reckon with in the business of comedy.
#3 - Kapil Sharma's fans know that he made his Bollywood debut as a lead in the 2015 movie Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. But this was not his first Bollywood movie. His first role was a small part in the 2010 movie Bhavnao Ko Samjho, that was directed by fellow comedian Sunil Pal.
#4 - In 2012, Kapil Sharma earned the 69th position in the Forbes India Celebrity list in 2012 - which he improved upon considerably by getting on the 11th rank in 2016. He was ranked the third in The Economic Times' Most Admired Indian Personality List in 2015.
#5 - Kapil Sharma was the first guest on the eighth season of Amitabh Bachchan's Kaun Banega Crorepati. He was also a guest in Koffee With Karan in 2017.
