The first season of Inside Edge, streaming on Amazon Prime Video, may not be a masterpiece. But it was what you call a cult, entertaining, pulp series with the ludicrously engaging twists and turns, and an immensely talented cast. The series was based around Mumbai Mavericks, a team in the fictional T20 cricket series, Power-Play League, and the various corruption and powerplays involved both on and off the field. Taking inspiration with the various scandals involved in the real-life Indian Premier League (IPL), Inside Edge was a big hit among Indian fans of the OTT platform and also earned itself a nomination at the International Emmy Awards 2018. Now the sequel is around the corner, with a launch date of December 6. The makers have revealed the trailer for the second season, and it looks like we are in for more faceoffs, corruption and new players in the power-game. The trailer finally gives us a proper glimpse of Bhaisahab, the powerful overlord who helped Mavericks' owner Zarina Malik (Richa Chadha) out of a tight spot. He is played by Aamir Bashir, and he is stepping into the spotlight, though he does face a stiff adversary in Luke Kenny's character, who seems to want to keep PPL clean. Any bets this character may not survive the end of the season?

As for the returning protagonists, Arvind Vashishth (Angad Bedi) and Vayu Raghavan (Tanuj Virwani) are captaining two different teams this team, leading to several confrontations. The bowler, Prashant Kanaujia (Gully Boy fame Siddhant Chaturvedi) is haunted by the death of Devender Mishra (Amit Sial), whom he had killed in a fit of anger last season. Inside Edge Season 2 to Stream on Amazon Prime from December 6.

And yeah, towards the very end of the trailer, we see that the first season's main baddie Vikrant Dhawan (Vivek Oberoi) is alive and kicking, despite the last we see of him last season was Zarina bashing him with a bat. Though he sports the scars, Vikrant is still having the strings in his hands, revealing to be the master of the puppetry.

Inside Edge Season 2 also stars Sayani Gupta, Manu Rishi Chaddha, Flora Saini, Sapna Pabbi, and Alexx O'Nell. The show is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment. Aakash Bhatia has directed Inside Edge season 2, that has been created by former critic turned filmmaker Karan Anshuman.
