House of the Dragons' Season 2 finale provided surprising information and stirred up many new questions. Characters with magical abilities revealed their powers. One missing major character reappeared, while others began to make their exits. A few new dragons were also spotted along the way. Even the Battle of the Gullet was a cliffhanger for the fans of HOTD. As the many cliffhangers hang and the various armies get into position, here are a few questions we’re still contemplating as we await Season 3. ‘House of the Dragon Season 3’ Release Date: Here’s What We Know About Matt Smith’s Fantasy Drama Series.

Who Was the Enigmatic Figure in Daemon’s Vision?

This season has been low on magic, except at Harrenhal, where Daemon (Matt Smith) experienced waking dreams influenced by Alys Rivers (Gayle Rankin). In the finale, Alys granted him a vision that hinted at future events in Game of Thrones. The appearance of a pale face with a wine-coloured birthmark suggested the Three-Eyed Raven's identity as Brynden Rivers, a future descendant of Daemon.

What About The Two New Dragons?

Rhaena Targaryen (Phoebe Campbell) has been tracking a wild dragon in the Vale, known for barbecuing local sheep. In the Season 2 finale, she finally encounters it, and its intentions remain unclear. Readers recognise this dragon as a Sheepstealer. Will he choose Rhaena as his rider? In the final montage, another dragon flies overhead as the Hightower army marches to battle. This appears to be Tessarion, ridden by Daeron, Alicent’s often-forgotten third son. Additionally, Seasmoke's choice of a new rider, Addam of Hull (Clinton Liberty), raises a significant question. Traditionally, no dragon has had two riders while the first still lives. Does this mean Laenor Velaryon (John Macmillan), who faked his death in Season 1, is truly dead now? It is important to know about the history of Sheepstealer and Tessarion. ‘House of the Dragon’ S2 Review: Critics Hail Episode 7 As ‘Visual’ Feast With Rhaenyra’s Dragonriders Taking Flight.

What about Helaena?

The appearance of Helaena (Phia Saban) in Daemon’s vision suggests she might be more aware than we thought. This tragic soul could be her generation’s dreamer, raising questions about her clairvoyance. Are Alys and Bloodraven helping or manipulating her? Is she their Bran Stark? Her brother, Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), threatened her life after she refused to ride her dragon into battle.

Where are the Hightowers?

This may be one of the most important aspects. Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and Otto (Rhys Ifans) are removed from the chessboard. Alicent, ready to flee, has declared her willingness to sacrifice her son Aegon for peace. Yet, according to George RR Martin's Fire & Blood, she has more to do. How long can Alicent stay away before being pulled back into the intrigue?

What About Aegon?

Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney) is in dire straits, and Larys Strong suggests they leave the city. Alicent hopes her son might renounce his claim and join the Sept or the Night’s Watch, but Larys has other plans—a getaway to Braavos. As we last see them, Larys is sneaking Aegon out of King’s Landing in a wagon full of caged birds.

Season 2 thrust Westeros to the edge of civil war, with the Green and Black Councils vying for control through King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra. The season featured a stellar cast including Olivia Cooke as Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, and others.
