While Hina Khan is yet to take over as the cold-hearted Komolika in  Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, she has her kitty full of professional commitments. Only recently, Hina revealed that Ekta Kapoor had approached her with not just Kasautii... but also another show where she would be seen essaying a positive role. And along with that, the actress has now bagged her first 70-mm project and is all set and determined to shine on the big screen as well. The actress confirmed the development to Bombay Times and revealed that the story of the yet-to-be-untitled film is set in the Kashmir of the 90s. Calling the film a 'female-centric' one, the actress expressed her excitement of 'challenging herself in a new medium'.

Hina was also quoted by the daily as saying, "I also love the fact that it’s set in a time and place, where we are away from the hustle and bustle of city life, technology, daily rush and competition." Also, veteran actress Farida Jalal will be seen alongside Hina, playing her grandmother.

The film has been written by Shakti Singh and Rahat Kazmi, the latter who will also be producing the project. The film will be directed by Hussain Khan. Revealing why she is missing from Kasautii... Hina told the daily that she had other prior commitments to attend to even before she'd signed on the dotted line for Kasautii and also that makers wanted her track to start full-fledged on the show, without any breaks and hence the delay. What we have also been informed of is that this film will first compete in film festivals and then be released commercially as well.
