If you are an anime fan and like to watch your content... err... free of charge, there is a possibility that you might have woken up this fine morning and found your favourite streaming site not working. More than 10 anime streaming websites have been closed in the past couple of days, and there is no official reason as to why. According to an article posted on Torrentfreak.com, sites like Aniwave.to, Anix.to, AnimeSuge, Zoroxtv, Fboxz.to, 9anime etc have been shut down mostly due to government action on sites illegally streaming anime content through piracy. Millions of anime and manga lovers access these sites worldwide. HiAnime, Animewave, Zoro TV and More – 7 Alternative Websites to Aniwatch TV for Bingeing Anime and Japanese Manga Series Like One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen Online in India.

A couple of websites cannot be accessed by the users, while some other sites are showing a shutdown message. Like for example, if you open animesuge.to, you will be greeted with the message that "Creating better products that provide an improved user experience and fostering competition to drive the market to enhance products is something we are very happy about. Now that everything has improved… it is also time for us to say goodbye...It is difficult to part with something we have invested so much effort and passion into, but it is something we need to do. Thank you for standing by and supporting us throughout this time! Every game must have an end...and life is about experiences. Every mistake teaches us lessons that help us grow."

Funnily, the site also asks the reader to use 'legal paid services', because 'we should do to show our respect for creators and content producers'.

The alleged shutdown of these websites has worried fans who have posted 'condolence' messages on X and Reddit.

According to certain reports, this same message was also displayed on other websites like Aniwave and 9anime. Not anymore, though.

Not all sites mentioned above have actually shut down. Many of them have simply shifted to a different domain name and are continuing to stream their anime content. For example, Aniwave has changed its domain from .to to .se, and business is as usual on the website.

Similarly, sites like Animewave, Zorox and 9anime have changed their domain names, and they are functional in the new domains. We don't know how long they will be up before the governments will crack down on these. Anime Fans Rejoice! From Demon Slayer 4 to Goblin Slayer, Enjoy Your Favourite Series on This OTT Platform.

We at LatestLY do not encourage piracy of any kind, so we would request our readers to watch anime from official websites and support its creators. Just as the folks of Animesuge finally came to realise.
