Game of Thrones is in its final season. In less than eight episodes we will have the answer to the question we have been chasing for so many years now. "Which of the zillion characters on GoT will claim the Iron Throne?" We have already talked why we think Gendry - of all people - might be the one. Now, we are going to talk about why Sansa Stark, Ned Stark's oldest daughter, might be the one who claims the title of the Queen. First of all, she has become a cold-hearted badass over the past so many seasons. She might be the character that has suffered most of all.

On the first episode of Game of Thrones season 8, Jon Snow asks Arya Stark why she is defending Sansa. Our answer might lie in what Arya replied. "[Sansa] is the smartest person I have ever met". And might we add, the luckiest. She should have been dead a long time ago but somehow her luck doubled with her smartness manages to save her. Game of Thrones 8: Will Bran Stark AKA The Three-Eyed Raven Sit on the Iron Throne?

First of all the way she plucked out Lord Baelish out of her way deserves a round of applause. First, she used him to get his army to save Jon in the Battle of the Bastards. Then she executed Baelish on the charges of murder and treason. Smart!

On her journey from Westeros to back to Winterfell, Sansa has learnt the art of scheming from the best of the best. She might not have picked up a sword to learn to fight but she sure has sharpened her mind beyond imagination. Cersei, Tyrion, Jon, Ned, Arya, Littlefinger, Joffrey, and others have all taught something or the other to Sansa.

Also, the way she took care of Winterfell upon her return has managed to earn her sweet spot in all hearts. She might be the more obvious choice than Jon Snow when the time comes. Unfortunately for her, this is not a democracy.
