The first teaser of the upcoming, awaited and dreaded, final season of Game of Thrones just dropped. The new promo does not show any new footage from the 8th season, because that would be too much to ask for from the makers as fans. Give us what we want already, HBO? But again, the new promo does hint and quite successfully at what is in store for us this time. Like the opening credits of the show, this video, too, is a symbolic representation of everything that is going to happen in the seven kingdoms. It's the song of ice and fire. Kit Harington Vows to NEVER Go Back to Playing Jon Snow in Game of Thrones.
The swift-moving current of cold consumes all and freezes everything on its way. Even one of the dragons freezes, which is a nod to one of Daenerys Targaryen's dragons, Viserion, turning into an undead ice beast in the previous season. Winter is here. But from the opposite direction, we see a fiery storm rise as well. The ice and fire finally meet to make what looks like a wall of Dragonstone.
The title of the video is Dragonstone Teaser. And, Dragonstone is also the title of the first episode of the new season. So, are we looking at different opening title sequences for every episode? Or maybe they are just explaining how Dragonstone is made?
Back in November, using their official Twitter and Instagram handle, Game of Thrones shared a video with an apt caption stating, “Every battle. Every betrayal. Every risk. Every fight. Every sacrifice. Every death. All #ForTheThrone". It did not show any new footage either. But it was then revealed the season 8 will premiere in April 2019. Yayy! As per reports, the director if Game of Thrones, David Nutter, has revealed that the duration of all the episodes of season 8 will be longer than 60 minutes.
