Game of Thrones Season 8: HBO Releases a Heart-Wrenching Video of 'Jenny of Oldstones' Song Performed by Florence and the Machine
The Jenny of Old Stones song performed by Florence + the Machine is a delight to the ears and we bet you will love the video too.
In a first of sorts, Game Of Thrones introduced a song in song in the end credits of the second episode of season 8. This was the same song that we saw Podrick singing in the episode when Tyrion Lannister insists someone should sing a song to break the tension as they kill time before the final few hours of facing their enemy. The song 'Jenny of Oldstones' has now been released by the makers in a separate video covered by Florence + the Machine. The song video features the main surviving characters and all that they've loved and lost over the past seven seasons. The makers of the show, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have reportedly been huge fans of Florence + the Machine and hence wanted the performer to work with them on a special song. Florence + the Machine's song Seven Devils was earlier used in Season 2 and this time, the makers wanted to the English indie rock band to croon 'Jenny song' which is a part of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire.
The song is said to have to a special meaning because book readers believe the song was actually penned by Jon's father and Daenerys' brother, Rhaegar Targaryen. Apparently, Rhaegar sang this ballad at the Tourney of Harrenhal that made Lyanna Stark weep.Game Of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2: Brienne Of Tarth Gets 'Knighted' by Jaime Lannister and Twitter Says Fu*K Gender Norms.

We have to say, the song sounds beautiful and it made an even better impact in the episode especially since it comes from Podrick Payne's character. Cinematically, there has been a tradition of introducing songs ahead of a major battle. We have seen it other fantasy dramas such as Lord Of The Rings too.
