The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones premiered on April 15 in India. The show was available to watch on a streaming platform, Hotstar, along with the US premiere. But turns out India was the country that pirated the first episode the most. As per digital-piracy analytics company Muso, the premiere episode was pirated 54 million times in the world, of which 10 million views, the highest, came from India. Next was China with 5 million views. With the ongoing digital boom, we should expect things to change soon. OTT platforms are becoming the new fad in the country. A report by MensXP suggests that China was a market for piracy because the episode aired in the country was heavily censored.
