The third episode of the final season of Game of Thrones aired today. We finally got to see the Battle of Winterfell, with the Night King's army killing many of the major characters. There is one very special throwback to the first season in this episode. Seeing the dagger, Sansa says she doesn't know how to use it. "Stick 'em with the pointy end," Arya replies. This one little line has a lot of meaning packed into it. It is the first piece of advice that Arya received when she learnt how to fight all the way back in season 1.

In season 1, episode 2, of Game of Thrones, Jon Snow gifts Arya her first sword, that is called the Needle. He also gives her the first lesson as he says, "Stick 'em with the pointy end,".

Also, the eights episode of the first season was titled 'The Pointy End' on this very dialogue. Arya Stark seems to have come full circle in her life. She is giving out the one key advice that kept her alive in all her fights all these years. Sansa, though fragile, can sure poke a few holes in the enemies if she does stick 'em with the pointy end.
