Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2: Daenerys' Reaction to Jon Snow's Identity is Making Fans Believe Theories of Her Becoming 'Mad Queen'
Daenerys Targaryen is showing shades of her father Mad King's attitude and we are scared about her taking the throne.
The second episode of Game Of Thrones titled 'Quiet in the Realm' turned out to be a crucial one on several accounts. Among the many significant things that happened in the episode, the biggest revelation was (spoiler alert), Jon Snow's confrontation with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) about his true identity. Yes, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) finally confessed he's Aegon Targaryen, Daenerys' nephew in the latest episode. For the uninitiated, Jon Snow is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen, Daenerys's brother and Ned Stark's sister Lyanna Stark. What was interesting was, Daenerys'instant disregard for the truth about this revelation and the evident unhappiness on her face when she said, "If it were true, it would make you the last male heir of House Targaryen. You’d have a claim to the Iron Throne.”
In the same episode, we earlier see Daenerys talk about her love for Jon Snow bringing her to the North to fight against the White Walkers during her conversation with Sansa where she spells her ultimate goal to be sitting on the Iron Throne after the war ends. Looking at Daenerys' will to sit on the throne, fans are now questioning whether the Mother of Dragons would be willing to kill Jon. Since the last season, we have seen characters question whether she takes after her father, the Mad King. In fact, even Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is seen discussing her intentions as he speaks to Tyrion (Peter Dinklage). Many believe that Daenerys will soon take the 'Mad Queen' mode, traces of which were seen when she burnt Samwell Tarley's father and brother after they refused to bend the knee. Her immediate uncooperation to Sansa Stark's (Sophie Turner) demand for the North to be left alone after the battle also shows how badly she wants control over the realm. Fans are now wondering if Daenerys has forgotten how once she declared that she would 'break the wheel'. In the coming episode, we will see who survives the terrible battle of Winterfell as White Walkers are all set to take on the Castle now. In the meantime, the second episode of the season is currently available for streaming on Hotstar.
