Game Of Thornes didn't exactly end the way fans expected it to. The series based on George RR Martin's book Songs of Ice and Fire ended its run after eight seasons in April this year. While the big finale was trashed by fans, after hearing news of a prequel coming up, things seemed to be a little brighter for GOT fans. The filming for the prequel's pilot is currently underway and we hear things are about to get interesting since the series will consist of Starks. GOT Creator George RR Martin Binge-Watches HBO’s Chernobyl, Wants It to Win a ‘Truckload of Emmys’.

Yes, you heard it right. The prequel is based nearly 5000 years ago of what happened in the original series, yet the Stark family will still be a part of the story. Not just this, the prequel will also bring back our favourite creatures from the show, direwolves. The Starks and direwolves have a history and hopefully, the prequel will finally explore this much more than what we saw in Game Of Thrones. We hope this time, there are no mishaps like 'no petting the direwolf' in the prequel.

According to reports, author George RR Martin recently gave out some interesting details relating to the prequel. Speaking to EW, he said, "The Starks will definitely be there. Obviously, the White Walkers are here — or as they’re called in my books, The Others — and that will be an aspect of it. There are things like direwolves and mammoths.”

Martin also had an interesting revelation about the history of Westeros. While there won't be any Lannisters in the prequel, the author also revealed that there won't be the seven kingdoms as we knew. He said, "We talk about the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros; there were Seven Kingdoms at the time of Aegon’s Conquest. But if you go back further then there are nine kingdoms and 12 kingdoms, and eventually, you get back to where there are a hundred kingdoms — petty kingdoms — and that’s the era we’re talking about here.” Game of Thrones Prequel Officially Kickstarts Filming; Shoot Commences in North Ireland - Read Details.

These new revelations have certainly got us more excited about the prequel now. Fans are certainly hoping that since showrunners DB Weiss and David Benioff won't be working on the show, the prequel which is being spearheaded by Jane Goldman will be better.
