Game Of Thrones Season 8's penultimate episode released this week and ever since, it has been a talking point among fans who have been left highly disappointed by it. The series is coming to an end with only the final episode remaining and the show's ratings on fan sites seem to be at an all-time low like never before. Although interestingly, it is not just fans but also and actors who have felt the plot moving away from its designed path. Actor Conleth Hill who essayed the role of Lord Varys on the show recently had his character killed off in the fifth episode. Just like other actors who have left the show, Hill hasn't been much ecstatic about it. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor opened up about the show's final season saying, "The last couple seasons weren’t my favourite." He further elaborated on how the focus of the show shifted to certain characters only. He further added saying, "Last season and this season there were great scenes, and then I’d come in and kind of give a weather report at the end of them—‘film at 11. So I thought he was losing his knowledge. If he was such an intelligent man and he had such resources, how come he didn’t know about things? That added to my dismay. It’s now being rectified with getting a great and noble ending. But that was frustrating for a couple seasons.”
Fans were also left emotional watching Varys being killed off on the show. The social media reactions on Varys' exit showed that his character had a lot of supporters. It certainly is difficult for actors to say goodbye to a role after playing the character for so long and Hill even mentioned how tough it was for him, saying, "I took it very personally. I took it as a person, not as an actor or an artist. I understood the reactions of previous actors who had been in the same position a lot more than I did at the time."
