Whether you liked the finale season or not, you can't deny how much of a talking point Game of Thrones has become in the six weeks that it aired. The HBO show had a lot of threads to tie up, and though it didn't do justice to every single one of them, at least some of the main plotlines were comprehensively done away with. Sure, Game of Thrones didn't end the way many might have expected. The ending was not the completely happy one you expected (and if you did, you were watching the wrong show). Shocking! Emilia Clarke Was Not The Original Cast Roped In To Play Daenerys Targaryen in HBO's Game of Thrones!
The writers, DB Weiss and David Benioff, got a lot of flak for the rushed manner in which plotlines were explored (though HBO's insistence for having a truncated season is equally to be blamed).
That said, the final season was well-directed and beautifully photographed with several heart-thumping moments. Moreover, you just cannot deny that the main cast members gave some terrific performances, especially Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) and Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister).
So even if you might be disappointed with the finale, you would have less to complain about how committed the cast and the crew were to the show. And if you have any doubt, do see The Last Watch, a documentary on the making of the finale on Hotstar. The nearly two-hour documentary offers us glimpses of the shoot, the group reading sessions of the cast and some bloopers and outtakes.
One particular scene in The Last Watch that caught everyone's attention was Kit Harrington's reaction to Daenerys' death sequence. SPOILER ALERT - Jon Snow kills his lover/aunty Dany when he feels that the latter is on the brink of destroying everything that is close to him. While reading that scene, Kit became very emotional and was almost in tears.
His reaction even left the Game of Thrones fans overwhelmed and they said this was ever sadder than the scene that he was reading.

The clip from #TheLastWatch of Kit Harington learning that Jon Snow kills Daenerys is making me feel more for the actor than I felt for the character, in that scene or throughout the series. This just makes me want video of every #GameOfThrones table read. pic.twitter.com/eMxKgEYhZ5

Another scene from The Last Watch that won the internet was when the cast got to the scene where Arya Stark kills The Night King. Their jubilation is something we can totally relate to!
