So Our Watch Has Finally Ended! Game of Thrones, arguably the biggest and most followed TV series around the world, has now ended its march with a bitter-sweet conclusion. Based on books by George RR Martin, the show has been produced by HBO and had enjoyed massive ratings in its eight-season run. It also feels justified that the show's main writers,ย David Benioff and DB Weiss, have directed the finale.ย Game of Thrones 8 Episode 6 (Finale) Recap: Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow or Arya Stark โ Who Ascended the Iron Throne? Here's All You Need to Know!
The final episode ofย Game of Thrones may have its own set of big problems, but leaves you highly emotional as it ties up the arcs of the main characters. For a show about deaths and dragons, the finale only had one major death, but it is definitely a heartbreaker thanks to a dragon's reaction to it. It also brings back some of the secondary characters we thought we would never see again, including everyone's favourite direwolf, Ghost.
So here's what happened to all the characters who survived the 'Last War' and reached the finale and how the arcs ended for them.ย Game Of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6: THIS Major Character Death in the Finale Will Make You Say 'We Saw This Coming'!
Daenerys Targaryen
Almost reaches the Iron Throne. But she is killed by her lover/nephew after a passionate kiss. Later her body is carried away by Drogon to someplace unknown.
Jon Snow
Jon Snow, after being mentally and emotionally shaken by Dany's growing ambitions and the carnage, kills his Queen. He is arrested, and is demanded to be punished by Grey Worm. However, the new Council under the new King, banishes him to wear the blacks again and be a Watcher on the Wall. After bidding farewell to his dear ones, he goes to the Wall where he is reunited with Tormund and Ghost, and is last seen taking the Wildlings beyond the Wall to get them rehabilitated.
Bran Stark
Bran Stark, on the suggestion of Tyrion Lannister, is made the King of Westeros, because he can see everywhere. He is last seen being a part of the King's Council and tells them that he will track Drogon. So Hail the New King, though not the one you expected!
Sansa Stark
Sansa is now the Queen in the North, after demanding independence from Bran, who agrees. We see her coronation, which is quite a victory for the Stark girl who had once dreamt of being a Queen by marrying a King.
Arya Stark
Not the one to be tied down either by kingdom or marriage (Sorry, Gendry!), Arya sails towards the West of Westeros, where the maps end, with her Needle with her. Is that a sign for a spinoff based on her adventures?
Tyrion Lannister
Tyrion, after being arrested by Daenerys for treason and insubordination, is allowed by the Council of Lords to name the King. He chooses Bran, which everyone agrees to. Bran names him the Hand, so that he can fix the mistakes he made. Tyrion is later seen heading the King's Council, along with Seaworth, Bronn, Brienne and Samwell. He is also disappointed to find that he doesn't get a mention in The Song of Fire and Ice, a book written on events that followed King Baratheon's death.
Brienne of Tarth
The recently anointed knight is still grieving the death of her brief lover, Jaime. She does get the chance to show her love by completing the history that changed his perception from being a KingSlayer to the one who died protecting his Queen. Brienne was last seen being a part of the King's Council.
Grey Worm
Dany's Commander and the Leader of the Unsullied surprisingly managed to stay alive. He is angry with Jon killing his Queen but he is shockingly satisfied with John being banished to the Wall. We see him last sailing to the Isle of Naath.
Bronn
Bronn is made the Lord of the Highgarden and is now the Master of Coin at King's Council.
Ser Davos Seaworth
Davos is also the part of the King's Council and is now the Master of Ships.
Samwell Tarly
Poor Sammie! His one suggestion about letting locals vote for the King is laughed upon by the Lords. Democracy can take a hike at Westeros. Samwell, though, was a part of the King's Council and also gets to present the book, The Song of Fire and Ice.
Gilly
Nope, we didn't get to see Gilly in this episode. But we expect her to be hale and heart taking care of little Sam, as well as the unborn baby in her.
Drogon
Drogon, surprisingly, gave me the most emotional moment in the whole episode (apart from the closing). His mournful rage over his mother, Daenerys' death, was heart-rending and he also gets to burn and melt the Iron Thrones. He later flies away with her body, and last heard, he was seen going into the direction of East (So going Oriental, huh?).
Gendry
The newly-anointed Lord of Storm's End seems to have gotten over Arya's rejection. We get to see him as part of Council of Lords presiding over Tyrion's trial.
Yara Greyjoy
The Lady of the iron Isles was also a part of the Council of Lords. Among the Lords, she was the most unhappy about Dany's death and wants justice, but then falls as per others' wishes.
Tormund Giantsbane
Tormund is seen waiting for Jon when he reaches the Wall. Later, he is seen riding along with Jon beyond the Wall, along with the Wildlings. Disappointed to see that he doesn't have a single dialogue in the episode.
Ghost
Jon Snow's direwolf finally gets justice and a hug from him when Jon reaches the Wall. Later we see Ghost accompanying Jon and Tormund beyond the Wall.
Podrick Payne
The favourite ladies' man of Westeros is seen taking care of King Bran Stark, wheeling him around.
Edmure Tully
The Stark siblings' cowardly uncle makes a surprise return in the final episode. He is seen as a part of the Council of Lords. When the need for a new King is mentioned, Edmure tries to drop his name in the hat. But Sansa, in the episode's most epic burn, tells her uncle to sit down!
Robin Arryn
Also seen in the council are the Starks' cousin and Lord of the Eyrie. He is seen after a long time and is a part of the Council of Lords.
