The roster of the character has been thinning out for Game of Thrones, as we reach the fifth episode of the final season. We have seen the Night King and his army getting destroyed in the third episode, none other by our brave girl Arya Stark, who well, also lost her virginity an episode before. We also saw some of the popular human characters, as well as a dragon, lose their lives in the last two episodes. The fifth episode ended with Cersei Lannister ordering the execution of Missandei and the Mountain carrying her order much to the horror of Tyrion Lannister and Greyworm. Daenerys Targaryen, who also lost her dragon Rhaegal earlier that episode, is extremely pissed off! Game of Thrones season 8 episode 5 Telecast Time And Streaming: How to Watch GOT S08E05 in India.

So we are going to see the repercussions of that in the new episode, the penultimate one in Game of Thrones.

Varys is writing a letter to someone about Jon Snow's lineage when a little girl called Martha interrupts him about Daenerys not eating. When Jon Snow arrives with Davos Seaworth, Varys warns him of her future actions. He also tells him that all he wants is the rightful ruler to be on the throne. Jon Snow insists that Daenerys is his queen.

Tyrion goes on to warn Daenerys about Varys' betrayal, but Daenerys blames Jon Snow for spreading the secret. Daenerys is also looking very tired in the sequence.

After Varys betrayal is out in the open, Greyworm arrests him and takes him to the beach where Daenerys, Tyrion and Jon Snow is awaiting him. Tyrion tells Varys that it was him that lead to Varys being ousted. Varys tells him that he hopes that he is wrong. Daenerys sentences him to death by Dracarys, and we see the end of Varys, one of the biggest conspirators of the show!

Jon Snow meets Dany privately where she asks him about Varys. Jon Snow tells her that he had told Varys that he doesn't want the throne. When Dany kisses him, he hesitates which annoys him.

Later in the war council, Tyrion warns Daenerys of attacking the main city with innocent people in it. But Daenerys proceeds with her plans to take the city at whatever costs may be. Dany also informs Tyrion that his brother, Jaime, has been caught trying to get into King's Landing. She warns him that if Tyrion fails her again, that would be the last time he would be failing her!

Tyrion is later seen asking a favour from Davos Seaworth, which may have something to do with making Jaime escape. Arya and The Hound reach the outskirts of the city, where they state their intentions to kill Cersei and seek approval from the guards to do so.

Tyrion tries to convince Jaime to persuade Cersei to escape with him and lead a new life elsewhere. He also asks him to ring the bells to indicate surrender. Tyrion lets Jaime escape. Tyrion and Jaime have a tearful farewell.

The next morning, the King's Landing is ready to face the attack by Dany's forces. Arya and The Hound make their way into the city, and so does Jaime. The Golden Company joins Euron Greyjoy's forces to protect the city as they face Dany's army. The gates are closed in King's Landing so that the escaping citizens becoming unwilling human shields for the city.

The attack begins with Dany destroying Euron's fleet with her sole dragon, Drogon. Euron escapes, but we can't say the same about his men. Even the much famed Golden Company is destroyed within minutes, including its captain. Dany, her forces and her Dragon easily destroy the enemy forces and most of Cersei's men are killed.

Cersei still persists on killing Dany's dragon instead of going for a surrender. The rest of Cersei's army, however, surrender in front of Jon Snow's troops. The citizens ask for Cersei to 'ring the bell' but she still waits.

As Dany is about to mount an attack on Cersei's castle, the surrender bell rings. However, a seething Dany refuses to stop and she flies towards Cersei's castle killing people on the way. Even Greyworm attacks and kills the surrendered army of Cersei's. Jon Snow stops his troops from doing so, but the damage is done.

Jon Snow and Tyrion are shocked by the carnage that Dany and her forces are leaving behind. Drogon destroys parts of Cersei's castle. Jaime tries to get into the castle through a secret getaway, but he is ambushed by Euron Greyjoy who is determined to kill him. In the fight, Euron stabs Jaime. Jaime gets hold of his sword and kills Euron. Qyburn takes Cersei to a safer place.

The Hound tells Arya to go back as the fire would kill Cersei anyway. Arya refuses at first, but The Hound uses his example to show what revenge can do to a person! Arya thanks The Hound before she leaves. The Hound faces the Mountain as he escorts Cersei and Qyburn to a safe place. Cersei orders The Mountain to stay by her, but he refuses. When Qyburn asks him to heed the order, The Mountain bangs his head and kills him. Cersei leaves this place as the much-hyped Cleganebwl begins. We also get The Mountain unmasked. The Hound digs his sword into his brother, but it doesn't seem to affect him.

Jaime finally meets Cersei where they have a bitter-sweet reunion. Arya gets caught in the city's chaos outside. The Mountain batters The Hound mercilessly, who stabs him back on the eye. However, it doesn't seem to affect him at all. A frustrated Hound pushes the Mountain and himself to fall into the fiery depths below the walls, killing both of them.

An injured Arya tries to help some of the people escape, but she is helpless and often at mortal peril.

Jaime and Cersei find their escape route blocked. Cersei breaks down, crying that she wants her baby to live. Jamie tries to comfort her and then the area caves in killing both of them.

Arya Stark comes out of her hiding place and grieves over the destruction that Daenerys has left in King's Landing. She finds a white, injured horse as the only survivor and rides it from the city.

So to sum up, this has been an episode that hastily makes Daenerys the real daughter of her father, The Mad King, and some really major deaths. It has been action-packed, but also very under-whelming because everything seemed half-baked.
