Game of Thrones 8 Episode 4 Recap: After Beating the Night King, Can Jon Snow, Arya Stark, Daenerys Targaryen Now Defeat Cersei Lannister?

The new episode begins with the repercussions of the last episode as the survivors take the toll of the dead and the losses.

The Long Night is done with, but the Dawn that arrives is not filled with happy tidings. Game of Thrones Season 8 had one of its most unnerving episodes done away with in the third episode. The entire episode dealt with the Battle of Winterfell, that had the Night King and his army of the undead attacked Winterfell in a bloody, gruesome battle. By the end of the episode, The Night King is killed by a quick-thinking Arya Stark, but the heroes suffered some huge casualties. The new episode begins with the repercussions of the last episode as the survivors take the toll of the dead and the losses. The Episode begins with showing us the dead body of Jorah Mormant, as Daenerys Targaryen kisses him in the forehead. We later see Sansa Stark mourning over the corpse of Theon Greyjoy. The rest of the survivors of Winterfell are somberly standing outside as the bodies of the dead warriors are being burned. Jon Snow gives the speech that respects the fallen.

During the feast that follows, Daenerys is looking annoyed with Jon Snow. Genry is searching for Arya Stark, but he is stopped by Dany. She appoints him as the Lord of the Storm's End, owing to him being the son of the deceased Robert Baratheon. Tyrion appreciates Dany for her political play.

Tyrion and Davos Seaworth talk about Melisandre's demise. Tyrion reminds Davis that they may have defeated the Night King, but they still have themselves to contend with. Bran and Tyrion talk about how the former doesn't want to be the lord of Winterfell. During the feat, everyone hail the Dragon Queen and Arya Stark. Sansa is unhappy about the look that Dany and Jon share and she leaves the banquet table.

Dany is not happy with the praises that are being showered upon Jon Snow, Varys notices her jealousy.

During a drinking game, Brienne is annoyed when Tyrion questions if she is a virgin, and leaves the table. Jaime follows to comfort her.

Gendry later finds Arya Stark practise archery and tells her of the good news. He proposes marriage to her. She kisses him, but rejects his proposal.

After many speculations of will they-won't they, Jaime and Brienne end up having sex. In another room, Jon and Dany try to make out, but they are reminded of Jon's real lineage. Dany tries to convince Jon to keep his lineage a secret, but Jon insists that he has to tell Sansa and Arya. Dany is adamant that Jon has to not divulge his secret, especially to Sansa, if the relationship has to be maintained.

Daenerys, Sansa, Arya, Jon, Tyrion, Varys, Greyworm et al discuss about defeating Cersei. Sansa reminds that they have to take care of the people of Winterfell, leading to some friction with Dany, who insists on her taking Cersei first. Jon Snow supports Dany's decision.

The Starks later have a meeting near the Weirwood, where Jon asks Bran to tell both Sansa and Arya about his truth.

As Tyrion and Jaime talk about the latter's fling with Brienne, when Bronn barges in with the crossbow with which he was hired to kill them. Bronn strikes a deal with Tyrion and Jaime that he gets to rule the Highgarden.

Arya and The Hound later bump into each other as they ride to King's Landing. Dany tends to her injured dragons. Tyrion talks to Sansa about not needling Dany needlessly as she is her queen, but Sansa asks him if there is a possibility of having someone better to rule the North.

Jon Snow and Tormund bade farewell, as the latter leaves for the South with the rest of the Wildlings. Samwell and Ginny also come to bid Jon farewell, where Jon realises that she is pregnant with Sam's child. We also have a glimpse of an injured Ghost, as Jon leaves for King's Landing.

Dany and the Unsullied go to King's Landing on ships and Dragons. Tyrion discusses with Varys the possibility of having Jon share the thrones with Dany. However, at the same time, one of Dany's dragons, Rhaegal is killed by Euron Greyjoy, whose fleet attack's Dany's. Euron's ships destroy her ships.

The survivors reach the beach, but Greyworm discovers that Missandei is missing.

Happy with what happened, Cersei proposes that she and Euron be married and tells him that she is pregnant with his child. They also expect Dany to attack the city from the land. Dany wants to actually do so, no matter how many innocent people die in King's Landing, leaving Varys worried.

Varys and Tyrion have a discussion on whether Jon Snow is now a better ruler than Dany. Varys decides that he is now going to work against Daenerys now, though Tyrion pleads him not to! Jaime is informed by Brienne and Sansa about Dany being defeated and Missandei being captured. A worried Jaime decides to leave for King's Landing. Brienne tearfully asks him not to but he is adamant and leaves for the city.

Dany and her army stand at the outskirts of King's Landing while Cersei, Euron and her troops stand on the top of the fort with a captured Missandei. Qyburn and Tyrion discuss terms of surrender of each other's armies, but no one is willing to budge. Tyrion directly appeals to Cersei. However, an arrogant Cersei allows The Mountain to chop off Missandei's head, leaving Dany furious. Things are about to get worse.
