The first two episodes of Game of Thrones 8 acted like the calm before the big storm. The first episode of the final season at least had a couple of intense moments, like the unholy reunion of Cersei Lannister and Euron Greyjoy, and the young Lord Umber being made into a morbid wallpaper by the Night King in the Last Hearth. The second episode of Game of Thrones spent all its time in Winterfell, where we had the heroes have their reunions, reminiscing about good old days and Arya Stark losing her virginity. And then the Night King arrives. Game of Thrones 8 Episode 3: Sophie Turner Aka Sansa Turner Asks Us to Prepare Ourselves for Battle of Winterfell but Fans Aren’t Ready!

She asks Jorah Mormont to allow the army to let her pass through. On the way, she makes the swords of the army aflame to battle the undead.

To Davos, she has a chilling prediction to be made -  that she will be dead before the dawn, so no need to execute her!

The battle begins as the Winterfell army marched towards the undead, with even Ghost joining in. However as the first wave meets the undead, they look to be decimated. Some of them return, including Jorah, who looks to be badly injured.

Bran meanwhile wards into ravens to find out what the Night King is upto. Meanwhile, the undead fall on the flaming trenches to allow their comrades to pass through. Jon Snow sees the Night King flying on Viserion and looks to challenge him.

The undead begin to climb the walls. Jaime and Brienne save each other, but the Night Walkers prove too much for everyone, In a brave display of valour, Arya takes on many of the undead but in the end she had to run away. Lyanna Mormont dies when a Giant Undead tries to eat her, but not before she pokes her sword in his eye and kills it. Sandor Clegane has given up on the war, but Beric asks him to learn something from Arya.

Meanwhile, Arya is stuck in the library where the zombies are searching for any humans to kill. She tried to bait them away, and nearly gets killed. It is after a long time that we get to see Arya so scared, as she runs away from the hordes of the undead running after her.

The people hidden in the crypt are terrified by what's happening outside, not sure what is going on.

Beric Dondarrion gets killed while trying to save Arya. It is a poignant moment, as Arya once wanted to kill him. Melisandre tells her that he has served his purpose.

An epic battle goes in between Jon Snow and the Night King on their dragons, where Jon is saved by Dany. The Night King falls down and Dany tries to burh him down with her dragon but it doesn't affect him at all. In fact, he throws his spear on Drogon injuring the beast.

Jorah Mormont gets stabbed multiple times trying to protect Dany.

The Night King slowly approached Bran Stark and is about to kill him, while Viserion is about to kill Jon. Then out of nowhere,  Arya jumps on Night King, who promptly ties to strangulate her. But she smartly stabs him in the stomach disintegrating him and the rest of his army. Jorah dies in Dany's arms.

Melisandre walks into the snow where she takes of her age-hiding necklace, becomes an old woman and dies.

Overall, an action-packed episode that sees so many deaths and some thrilling moments. Some of the scenes were too dark to figure out, but we have to say that our hearts were in our mouths. Jon Snow and Daenerys, especially, had some very narrow escapes.
