The second episode of Game of Thrones 8 was quite a ride. Major spoilers, as said in the headline, lie ahead, so turn around if you plan to watch the episode. Here we begin. While the episode might have ended right before the moment the Great War began, there were plenty of other moments that made us gasp. We are not even talking about Arya's sex scene here. We are talking about Bran Stark revealing, once and for all, that Night King is hunting him down. Why? Thankfully, writers showed mercy on the viewers and explained that as well.

Bran's visions have been infiltrated by Night King earlier in the seasons. He was even marked by the zombie king. While coming up with a strategy to fight the Night King, Bran suggests that they lure him - the Three-Eyed Raven - as the bait. “I am its memory," he cryptically says.

Samwell explains what Bran means is that his "memories don’t come from books. And your stories aren’t just stories. If I wanted to erase the world, I’d start with you.” Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2 Recap: From Jaime Lannister’s Reprieval to Arya Stark’s Loss of Virginity, All That Happened in ‘Quiet in the Realm’ (SPOILER ALERT).

As per Bran, a three-eyed Raven is the living history of Westeros. It is aware of the past and the secrets as well. So, in order to erase Westeros completely, the Night King also wants to erase the past. So, for that killing Bran would be a delight for him. Interesting, right?

In all honesty, this could have been anyone's best guess about the relationship between Bran, now the three-eyed Raven, and the NIght King. All we have to see now which one of the two powerful beings would survive the next episode of Game of Thrones. Although, we are still looking forward to the fan theory that Bran is, in fact, the Night King.
