The recent Kerala Floods that nearly derailed the southernmost state of our country has caused two diverse reactions from the rest of the country. There were, of course, people coming out in support of those affected by the floods in the state and helping them out either through voluntary aid work or by donating supplies and money to the Cheif Minister's Relief Fund. There have been celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and others who have donated generously for the cause.
And there is the second type of vicious kind who have used the tragedy to promote their own hateful thinking. There were many right-wing supporters who called the floods as God's curse to Kerala for eating beef, cow slaughter and even for thinking of allowing women in Sabari Mala temple. Unfortunately, there are some celebs who are of this opinion. Like actress and former Bigg Boss contestant Payal Rohatgi. Check out what she has to say about Kerala floods in one of her latest tweets -
#cowslaughter is NOT banned in #kerala. Dear Kerala people and politicians of Kerala, not good to hurt the sentiments of #Hindus. If u openly do that, sorry to sound but God also openly does it.. God is one but u can’t hurt religious faith like this pic.twitter.com/eqBwM7F15G

This is exactly the sentiment of many of the RW trolls. Naturally, Payal, who is engaged to wrestler Sangram Singh, has been slammed by many of Twitter, who are also curious as to why she posted her own picture with the tweet, instead of a cow.
Will she or will she not?
Ma'am will stop sitting on that Sofa if she gets to know that it's made of Cow Leather. https://t.co/6ejIh6wlOd

America, you are next as per Ms Rohatgi's tweet!
God is so weird. He won't flood America or the European Countries for consuming beef and surely God has failed in his geography test, if he thinks that Vizag, Coorg, etc are all in Kerala.
Also, please don't tell God that India has become the number 1 beef exporter in the world. https://t.co/kpcUg7BTJT

Ouch!
Madam,
God isn't a hatemonger, fool, senseless or stupid like you. He would never punish anyone for eating a Cow.
So Shut Up !!!
Bdw, you're not even a Cow. Why you attached your picture with this tweet ? Ummm For likes ? Haha Smart move. https://t.co/f60UXbYUNc

The dangerous trend
Did you ever hear about Payal Rohatgi in last 7-8 years?
Well, this is a trick to come in limelight again making fool of right-wing trolls. Remember how 3rd-grade new reader Jagruti Shukla got an appointment in Rajya Sabha TV using same tricks! https://t.co/8Rt9atQcMD

Now, who can answer this? Hmm...
The Gujarathis were having beef before the earthquake? #Hindus #Bhakti #CowDung #SanghiFools https://t.co/U7ZZwBI7jQ

Burn!
This tweet is pathetic on so many levels, including her pic that she uploaded with it. https://t.co/lBTopxCp0V

God se puch ke batana.

Logic toh banta hai!
Madam fir toh maharashtra me next time drought ayega toh farmers ko bolne ka thoda beef khao, barish ajayega beef khate

However, Payal has been unfazed by the criticism she has been getting on social media, as she put out more tweets justifying her stand.
ALL views are taken into consideration based on the success/failure graph of the humanbeing. Beta #karma is #karma. It won’t spare a #hindu or a #muslim. But YES u all hurt a certain sentiment openly then talk about belittling me #Respect the #faith of ALL religions pic.twitter.com/KWJY8m5mPs

When A grade actors bring #religion in a #rape of a Indian girl it is OK and nationwide news But if I (Ms PayalRohatgi) bring #religion (my beliefs) in the flood like situation of #kerala I am considered uneducated & called names due to my career graph. Slow claps #Hypocrisy pic.twitter.com/kwAkBMX751

Now everyone has a right to speak their minds, but we do hope that there should be some sense and responsibility in what they sa. If not, at least learn the science in knowing how natural calamities happen. But if your interest is in spreading hate and gaining political mileage, well, we don't have anything else to say, except 'Get Well Soon'!
