In a sad turn of events, actor Kavi Kumar Azad breathed his last on Monday. Best known as Dr Hansraj Haathi in popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, slipped into coma the previous night. He was shifted to Wokhardt Hospital at Mira Road after he suffered a heart attack, reports spotboye.com. His comic sense was well-known and was the part of the show for quite many years, making him a household name.

The late TV star was also seen in films like Aamir Khan-Twinkle Khanna starrer 'Mela' and Paresh Rawal starrer 'Funtoosh'. There are no confirmation statements from any of the actors from TMKOC yet. The show also celebrated its 2500 episodes recently, of which, 'Dr Haathi' was a prominent part.

The team of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah cancelled the shoot for the day at the Film City after this heart breaking news. We hope that his family and friends get the courage to cope up with this irreparable loss. May his soul rest in peace.
