A few days back, news of actress Disha Vakani, aka Dayaben from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, returning to the show after a hiatus of 2 years, brought about the much-needed respite to ardent fans of the show. For those who do not know, Disha went on her maternity leave 2 years back and has not yet returned to the show. Confirming Disha's return to the show, producer Asit Kumar Modi was quoted as saying, in an earlier interview, "She seems to have made up her mind to make a comeback. Disha and the production house never had any negative conversations in the past. We were always insisting on having her back on the show. We have tried to push the story for two years without Dayaben, but we definitely want her back on the show."

And now, another report in Bombay Times reports that Disha has shot for a small portion of the show's on-going Navratri track of the show on Sunday. The daily also reported that while Disha did shoot, talks are still going on between the producers and Disha and some issues are yet to be resolved.

Confirmed Disha's return to the show, Asit Kumar Modi told the daily, "Disha has finally shot for a small segment, and hopefully, she will resume shooting for the show full-time. However, I must confess that talks are still on between us, and we hope to reach a solution soon. We have been in talks with Disha for months now. Mayur Padia, Disha's husband spoke to BT and revealed that his wife will not return to shooting for the show until their on-going talks are not resolved. "She has shot for a portion of the episode, but our talks with the makers still remain unresolved. So, she will not return to the show for good. We are hoping that we reach an amicable solution." Well, this piece of news definitely puts a damper on the viewers' excitement, doesn't it?
