Who thought a harmless cup of 'koffee' could nearly ruin your careers and reputations?
Who thought a harmless cup of 'koffee' could nearly ruin your careers and reputations? Not Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul! The two young Indian cricketers were in the eye of a storm, when their appearances in an episode of Koffee With Karan Season 6 sparked a lot of controversies. Both the cricketers, especially Pandya, were slammed for their sexist and misogynistic views on dating, women and sex. Even Karan Johar was trolled for encouraging their views. However, KJo is his own boss, though not Pandya and Rahul. Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul KWK 6 Controversy: CoA Asks Supreme Court to Appoint Ombudsman to Decide Fate of the Cricketers.
Both were suspended by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over their conduct from playing further matches pending investigation (?). Cricket fans are already making jokes and memes on Karan Johar ruining the career of these two stars, though it is more of an overreaction from the Board. And amidst all these controversies lands this new video, edited out of the controversial episode (taken off Hotstar after the outrage). The video takes a clip that has Karan Johar asking KL Rahul what, in his opinion, is the most overrated movie of 2018. KL Rahul replies that he found Dhadak to be overrated, only to be awkwardly reminded by the host that it was he produced the film. The morphed video hilariously hints if KJo had taken 'revenge' over this remark, which ended with KL Rahul landing in a soup in his professional career.
While the joke is funny, we are sure Pandya and Rahul are in no laughing mood. They have been taken off the ongoing Australian tour till the suspension is over. Despite apologising through their social media handles, they have to wait for the Supreme Court to appoint a committee that will decide their fate!
